Event Registration

Upon arrival, please ensure you collect your conference satchel and name badge at the registration desk. Delegates must wear their lanyard at all times during the conference. It is also your ticket into the Welcome Reception on Wednesday 26 September 2018 for all full delegates. 

The Conference registration desk will be located in the Ballroom Foyer of the Pullman International Cairns and will be open from the following times:  

 

Tuesday 17 September: 7:30am - 6:00pm

Wednesday 18 September: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Thursday 19 September: 8:30am - 3:15pm

Welcome Reception

Cost:

  • Included in FULL registrations, lanyards must be worn for entry

  • Tickets must be shown for entry for other registration types

  • A ticket can be purchased for $60

The Welcome Reception is an opportunity for delegates to network, renew acquaintances and also engage with sponsors and exhibitors.


The Welcome Reception includes non-alcoholic beverages and canapes. A cash bar will be available at the Welcome Reception for delegates to purchase alcoholic beverages at their own expense.


Conference Dinner
Date: Wednesday 18 September 2019
Dinner Location: Adelaide Town Hall

Cost: 

  • Included in FULL registrations, lanyards must be worn for entry

  • Tickets must be shown for entry for other registration types

  • A ticket can be purchased for $125

The Conference Dinner is an opportunity for delegates to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of PHAA, hear a keynote presentation, congratulate
award winners, and network and relax with light entertainment.

 

The Conference Dinner ticket includes non-alcoholic beverages, meals, presentation and light entertainment.

 

A cash bar will be available at the Conference Dinner for delegates to purchase alcoholic beverages at their own expense.


PHAA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Date: Wednesday 18 September​ 2019
Time: 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Location: Ballroom A, Level 1

Who can attend:

  • PHAA Financial Members - will be able to attend and vote. Financial Members will be required to sign in for voting purposes.

  • Non-PHAA Member - can attend as an observer

 

If you wish to have paper copied with you at the AGM, please print a copy and bring with you as only a limited number of hard copies will be available.

Indigenous Yarning Circle

The Australian Public Health Conference will feature an Indigenous yarning circle. The yarning circle is a place for Indigenous and non-Indigenous allies to come and listen, network and yarn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.


While there are no formal presentations, Elders will be invited to share their knowledge. Additionally, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander presenters will have be encouraged to continue conversations at lunchtime. At other times, people are welcome to sit and connect.

 

Dr Michael Doyle, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Special Interest Co-Convener, will be at the Conference, and at lunch times will be hosting the yarning circle on behalf of the PHAA.

Breaks
Morning/Afternoon Tea and Lunch will be served in the Exhibition area, Ballroom Foyer.

 

Dietary Requirements: The venue has been notified of any dietary requirements delegates have provided PHAA during the online registration process. If you have a dietary requirement and have not yet notified PHAA, please email events@phaa.net.au as soon as possible to ensure provisions can be made.

 

Payment
Please note full payment is required before the Conference starts on Tuesday 17 September 2019. If you have an outstanding payment at the Conference you will be required to complete the payment before attending the Conference unless otherwise agreed with PHAA prior to the Conference.

Conference App
We are pleased to be able to offer an Event App that can be used during the Conference to view the agenda, abstracts and speakers for the Conference as well as contact each other.

 

To download the app go to the App Store on your phone, use the QR codes below or search ‘The Event App by EventsAIR’ and type in the event code: aphc19. You will then have access to the app.

 

Once you are on the event app you can log into the app with your registration details to customise the app and make your own agenda.

Speakers Preparation Room

If you are presenting an oral presentation and need to upload your PowerPoint slides, please proceed to the Speakers Preparation desk located in Suite 1, Level 1.

Dress Code

The dress code for the conference is smart casual. Please note that the venue can become cold at times so please bring along a wrap or jumper just in case.

Evaluation Questionnaires

A Conference evaluation will be emails at the end of the Conference, we ask all delegates to complete the evaluation form. Feedback can also be given at the registration desk at the Conference by completing the feedback form and adding it to the feedback box.
 

Name Badge and Lanyards

Name badges can be collected from the registration desk during the times indicated above; delegates must wear their lanyard at all times during the conference.
